Celebrate MLK Day all weekend long with us! Learn about Martin Luther King Jr., his message of hope and acceptance, and more with fun activities!

Session Schedule:

9:45am - Drop-in activity

Art Studio: Watercolor Portraits and Quotes!

Learn about Dr. King's portrait in the National Portrait Gallery, and then make your own! Sketch out your portrait with pencil, and then color it in using watercolor, just like Boris Chaliapin did for Dr. King! For our younger guests, we will have various "bubble letter" quotes printed on cardstock to paint!

Jane's Innovation Station: Build-A-Bridge!

March of 1965, Dr. King took part in a historic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama to fight for equal rights for Black Americans. At Jane's Innovation Station, learn more about the journey, how bridges function, and take on the challenge to build your very own bridge!

How can you help make the world a better place, and help your community shine bright? By helping clean up! Learn about what can and can't be recycled in this fun sorting game.

Morph Gallery: Timeline of Dr. King's Life

Morph Gallery will be laid out as a timeline through Dr. King's life, with 39 steps (footprints) through the area to symbolize his 39 years of life with fun activities.

In this inspirational story about Martin Luther King Jr. - told from the perspective of his niece, Angela - readers learn how King used words of love and peace to fight for African Americans' civil rights.
