Thank you, Fulton County!
Children’s Museum of Atlanta is delighted to be a recipient of a grant from Fulton County through the department of Fulton County Arts and Culture. The mission of Fulton County Arts and Culture is to ensure all citizens’ access to the arts. Children’s Museum of Atlanta infuses the arts throughout all of its exhibits and programs and gives children creative outlets for artistic expression and development.
Funding from the Fulton County Arts Council supports the Museum’s featured exhibits for 2023: Splash and Bubbles: Dive In, Lend a Fin!, Shaun the Sheep: Flock This Way!, and Emotions at Play with Pixar’s Inside Out. You can play in the new Emotions at Play with Pixar’s Inside Out now through January 7.
Featured traveling exhibits highlight a myriad of topics including but not limited to science, math, literacy, geography, music, and the arts, and are supported by STEAM education activities at the Museum. Early learning educational concepts are reinforced through engaging daily programming which includes storytime, science demonstrations, music and movement, and arts and crafts. CMA’s Exhibits and Education Department has laid a solid foundation for innovative educational content that is in line with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards and the Georgia Standards for Excellence, helping the Museum to meet its mission and priorities.
This programming is extended to CMA’s outreach communities through our Connected Learning Connected Communities, Family Free Days, Access It! and Sensory Friendly Sessions, ensuring that all children, regardless of socio-economic status or disability, benefit from the quality STEAM programming the Museum has to offer. This year, we anticipate these outreach programs serving more than 20,000 children.
This grant also allows us to provide monthly experiences for visitors tied to national and international cultural events through the exploration and celebration of Atlanta’s diverse communities with the Museum’s Celebrate! programming throughout the year. We are able to invite partners around the city to share their cultures with our guests.
Children’s Museum of Atlanta wishes to thank the Fulton County Board of Commissioners for their generous support of our traveling exhibits and arts programming that enhance the Museum experience. We are truly grateful for Fulton County’s support and for making an impact on the communities we serve. Thank you, Fulton County!
