Activities:
The Ocean Calls
Dive down deep with us at the CMA Stage as we celebrate Asian-American Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Learn about the haenyeo – divers from South Korea’s Jeju Province – and then quest about the Museum, looking for different shells and sea life to bring back up to the shore!
Animal Yoga
Join us at the Stage to learn about Indian ecologist, Raman Sukumar! We’ll be celebrating his life and work by learning all about different types of animals and how they stand, move, and balance as we give ourselves a mindful moment!
Art Studio: Boppin' Blue Whales
As we celebrate our wild world and exploring its every nook and cranny, come create your very own paper plate Blue Whale that can rock back and forth in the depths of the ocean, and learn about Sri Lankan marine biologist, Asha de Vos!
Science Bar: Damselfish in Distress
Venture with us into a beautiful coral reef of light, color and critical thinking as we see through the eyes of the ever-feisty damselfish, and their remarkable ability to see UV light! Follow in the footsteps of Filipino marine biologist Edgardo Dizon Gomez – will you be able to tell friend fish from foe fish? Sort through schools of fish as you put your scientific and inquisitive skills to the test!
