The Questioneers: Read. Question. Think. PLAY!

The Questioneers

September 20, 2025 - January 4, 2026

Put on your thinking caps because the imaginative world of the Questioneers comes alive in this hands-on exhibit!

In The Questioneers: Read. Question. Think. PLAY! questions are posed, challenges are identified, and problem solving begins. Fly with Rosie in her cheese-copter, question how the world works while sitting in Ada's thinking chair, build a bridge to save the class with Iggy, lead a movement with Sofia while playing a game in Sofia's Citizen Park, and tell a story through drawings like Aaron!

This exhibit is recommended for children ages 3 - 9, and includes a “tot spot” specifically for children under three years of age.

Blue River Creek Build a Town +

Use your imagination and math skills to build a city, construct puzzles and build structures out of soft bricks and Dado squares®.

Suspension Bridge +

Explore balance and construction techniques while creating a bridge from Blue River Creek to the island where Iggy and his classmates went for a picnic.

Ada's Shelves +

Explore the scientific method while exploring Ada’s shelves. What happens when you push a button? What happens if you push all the buttons? Practice trial and error and record your results on the giant graph paper next to Ada’s shelves. Play with Ada’s toys.

Sofia's Game +

Immerse yourself in the steps needed to build a park. Be bold and brave! Pick one die from the shelf and roll it. Count forwards and backwards to make great strides. Inspire your fellow citizens, make a speech, and build a park alongside Sofia!

Cheese-copter +

Imagine a flight over Blue River Creek. Push the level forward and see the cheese whiz propeller rotate while you travel to your imaginary location.

Great Thinking Chair and Book Shelves +

Take some quiet time to think big thoughts and ask curious questions. Read books from the Questioneers series.

Rosie's Attic +

Explore the properties of flight and air in Rosie’s attic while outside the window friends fly her cheese-copter.

The Questioneers Classroom +

Join Aaron in Miss Lila Greer’s Second Grade Classroom and explore STEAM activities on every desk. Rosie, Ada, Iggy, Sofia, and Aaron have surprises at their desks, and Miss Lila Greer left a prompt on the white board to get your creativity flowing. Engineer, Build, Create, and Imagine in ever changing open-ended activities.

Pancake Arch +

Visitors use their gross motor skills to play with math concepts through the variety of pancake pieces. Build the St. Louis arch or stepping stones on the ground while jumping, climbing, piling, and counting pancakes their way.

Ada’s Great Thinking Wall +

Ask your curious questions and add to Ada’s Great Thinking Wall with your own drawings and questions.

Young Questioneers +

Taking inspiration from Citizens’ Park, our youngest visitors can practice early math, pretend play, and fine motor skills in Young Questioneers!
