Read for the Record

November 07, 2019

Join us at the Museum with our partners from Jumpstart to kick off this year’s Read for the Record! The 2019 featured book is Thank You, Omu!written and illustrated by Oge Mora – a beautiful story about generosity, sharing, and community.  To celebrate the kickoff, be sure to join the CMA Imaginators‘ Readers’ Theatre program that will bring the book and its characters to life; you can also check out what our CMA Educators are reading by visiting the Art Studio, Build It Lab, Science Bar, and Messy Thursday classroom.

The Read for the Record initiative is in support of Jumpstart’s mission: to work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. Read for the Record brings together millions of people each year in classrooms, libraries, community centers, and homes across the U.S. This annual campaign was launched over a decade ago to highlight the importance of building early literacy and language skills for EVERY child, so that all children have the opportunity to enter kindergarten prepared to succeed.
