Sally Ride was an astronaut and physicist. In 1983, she became the first American woman to go to space.
Annie Oakley was an American sharpshooter who was born in the 1800s. She began hunting as a child to provide for her family and later won many sharpshooting contests. 
Rosa Parks was a civil rights activist, organizer, and leader whose actions sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. She spent her life fighting against injustice. 
Marie Curie was a physicist and chemist who won two Nobel Prizes for her work. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the first person to win two.
Elizabeth Blackwell was a doctor. She was the first woman to receive a medical degree in the US, and she eventually opened her own medical college. 

Vocab Words

Sharpshooter: A sharpshooter is someone who is very skilled at shooting a firearm and is very accurate with their shots. Sharpshooters now compete in the Olympics!
Vittles: Vittles is a way of saying the word “victuals,” which means food. 
Patience: To accept delays without getting upset. 
Imagination: When your mind comes up with a creative idea, image, or situation. Isabella used her imagination to pretend to be many different women.
