Valentine’s Day Programs

February 11 @ 11:00 am - 4:30 pm

Special Music & Movement Program – 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM

Grab a partner and do-si-do on over to the CMA stage! With the help of the Imaginators, learn a few partner dances and whirl around the dance floor with the ones you love!

Special Music & Movement Program12:00 PM

Head to the CMA Stage for an exciting game of musical hearts! When the music stops, make sure to have your foot on a paper heart; the one whose foot is on the golden heart will then lead the group in a fun movement activity! No one gets out in this love-filled Valentine’s Day game at CMA!

Pete the Cat – Valentine’s Day is Cool

Read along with the Imaginators as they share aloud the groovy tale, Pete the Cat – Valentine’s Day is Cool, written by James Dean and illustrated by Kimberly Dean. Pete doesn’t believe Valentine’s Day is worth his while but then realizes how many special cats there are in his life. It’s important to remember that Valentine’s Day is also a day to celebrate the love we have for our family and friends!

Super Spectacular Science Show – 4:00 PM

Every afternoon, Professor Labcoat shares a fascinating science demonstration with the whole museum! Join her to see what kind of fun she has cooked up! Questions are encouraged at the end of the show.

Science Bar – open 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Science is everywhere, but it’s especially on the mezzanine at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta! Staffed by a STEM educator with a whole menu full of fun activities and a whole head full of knowledge, the Science Bar is where questions turn into answers! On Valentine’s Day, families who visit the Science Bar will also learn about the special bonds of love and protection shared between animal families.

Art Studio – open 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The projects in the Art Studio connect and are inspired by the traveling exhibits in the museum as well as cultural holidays. Children discover colors and explore artists from around the world. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, visit the Art Studio to create your own Valentine’s Day cards!

Build It Lab – open 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Children will enjoy this supervised space where they have access to real tools and materials needed to spark creativity, nurture curious minds, and ignite the next wave of innovators. Woodworking and other popular maker skills encourage visitors to be curious, creative and innovative. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, children will be given the tools to build their own Friendship Box – a keepsake box to collect invaluable trinkets or special notes from their closest friends. If time permits, our tiny tinkerers may even build a matching box for their favorite friend.
