Special Solar Eclipse Programs

A limited number of solar eclipse glasses will be distributed, after admission has been purchased/secured, to children ages 10 and under on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday on a first-come/first-served basis, beginning at 10AM.
Music & Movement – 11:00 AM & 3:00 PM
Glow in the Dark Dance Party! – Join the Imaginators as they put on their best glow in the dark accessories and dance to songs inspired by the sun and the moon!
Mini-Musical – 12:00 & 2:00 PM
A Sound Connection – A robot from the planet Solar and a caveperson from Earth come together for one common interest; the wonder of sound! Join these unlikely friends as they travel down the “Earie” Canal, listening to different animals in the wild, dancing and moving like sound waves, and becoming lifelong friends! Join the fun during this special Blue Man Group-Making Waves inspired mini-musical!

Super Spectacular Science Show – 4:00 PM
Every afternoon, Professor Labcoat shares a fascinating science demonstration with the whole museum! Join him to see what kind of fun he and his assistants have cooked up along with understand the total solar eclipse that takes place on Monday, August 21 at 2:30 pm.
Questions are encouraged at the end of the show.
Science Bar – open 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Science is everywhere, but it’s especially on the mezzanine at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta! staffed by a STEM educator. Learn how a total eclipse take place using a basketball, lacrosse ball and a flashlight.and why it is so rare
Art Studio – open 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM
In honor of the Eclipse guests will make their own spaceships.
Build It Lab – open 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Create a star for Eclipse Day using nails, wood and yarn.
