Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Celebration

Come celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday in partnership with the Georgia Association of Educator’s Read Across America. Children will enjoy stories read by a special guest reader and the Imaginators.
Storytime with the Georgia Association of Educators and Cat in the Hat Meet & Greet – 11:00 AM
Put on your Cat in the Hat striped hat and meet your CMA friends around our stage to listen to a favorite Seuss story shared by a special guest reader! And you never know what cool cat may pounce on stage to join in on the fun!
Readers’ Theatre: Star Bellied Sneeches– 12:00 PM & 3:00 PM
Join the Imaginators for an interactive reading of Sneetches and Other Stories and become your own star-belled Sneetch!
Super Spectacular Science Show and Cat in the Hat Meet & Greet – 1:00 PM
Every afternoon, Professor Labcoat shares a fascinating science demonstration with the whole museum! Join her to see what kind of fun she and her assistants have cooked up! After the show, stick around to be a part of Professor Labcoat’s afternoon visit from the Cat in the Hat himself!
Find the Wocket in CMA’s Pocket! – 2:00 PM
Explore rhyme while searching the museum to find that pesky Wocket, as well as other Seuss characters! Scavenger hunt begins with a reading of There’s A Wocket in My Pocket at the CMA stage.
Science Bar – open 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Science is everywhere, but it’s especially on the mezzanine at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta! Staffed by a STEM educator with a whole menu full of fun activities and a whole head full of knowledge, the Science Bar is where questions turn into answers!
Art Studio – open 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
The projects in the Art Studio connect and are inspired by the traveling exhibits in the museum as well as cultural holidays. Children discover colors and explore artists from around the world. Inspired by Dr. Seuss’s creative tales, make your own Lorax tree or Horton’s flower!
Build It Lab – open 10:30 AM-3:30 PM
Children will enjoy this supervised space where they have access to real tools and materials needed to spark creativity, nurture curious minds, and ignite the next wave of innovators. Woodworking and other popular maker skills encourage visitors to be curious, creative and innovative. On Read Across America celebration, build your own bbookendsfor your growing Seuss book collection!
