Super Spectacular Science Show…on ice! – 1:00 PM
Every afternoon, you can find Professor Labcoat at the CMA Ice Skating Rink! While attempting the perfect axel and toe-loop, Professor Labcoat will teach future gold-medalists all about the forces, angles, and science behind skating! After the performance, join her rink-side for even more dazzling winter science surprises!
Science Bar – open 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Throughout December, meet Professor Labcoat at the Science Bar for a winter wonderland of scientific fun! Explore weather instruments to predict if Atlanta will have a white Christmas, learn about the energy needed to power a circuit of holiday lights, and breathe in the aromas of the holidays while you discover exactly how your body’s olfactory system works!
Art Studio (Sewing Thursdays) – open 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Parents, guardians and their children will work together to hand sew a holiday-themed creation of their making. Classes will be open studio, so drop in and stay as long as you wish. We will provide the fabric, thread, and sewing machine, you just need to bring your imagination! These classes include professional instruction and the chance to create and learn something new!
Build It Lab – open 10:30 AM-3:30 PM
The holiday season is all about giving. In December, CMA’s Build It Lab will be transformed into a holiday toy workshop where you can design a special toy that you can give to a friend or loved one. Projects will include creating a toy helicopter, car, and ball catcher! Children will enjoy this supervised space where they have access to real tools and materials needed to spark creativity, nurture curious minds, and ignite the next wave of innovators. Woodworking and other popular maker skills encourage visitors to be curious, creative and innovative.
