Explore new vocabulary words while taking your imagination around the world during this special two week program-block.
Mini-Musical – 11:00 AM & 12:00 PM
Around the World in 20 Minutes – Master explorer Phineas Figg has just accepted a challenge from the International Explorers League to travel around the world–in 20 minutes! With your help, Figg will set off to explore many fascinating points from around the world. Will Figg make it back in time to complete the challenge?
Super Spectacular Science Show – 1:00 PM
Every afternoon, Professor Labcoat shares a fascinating science demonstration with the whole museum! Join her to see what kind of fun she and her assistants have cooked up! Questions are encouraged at the end of the show
Music & Movement – 2:00 PM
Dance Around the World – Travel with the Imaginators and dance your way through Asia, The Americas, Africa and Europe. Various dance routines will be highlighted (Asia- Fan Dance, The Americas- Hat Dance, Africa-African Dance, Europe- Polka Band Dance) and will encourage visitors to get out of their seats, enjoy some culture and have lots of fun!
Storytime – 3:00 PM
This Is How We Do It: One Day in the Lives of Seven Kids from Around the World – by Matt Lamothe
Follow the real lives of seven kids from Italy, Japan, Iran, India, Peru, Uganda, and Russia for a single day! Take a peek into a window of traditions that may be different from your own as well as a hold a mirror up to our common experiences.
Science Bar – open 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Science is everywhere, but it’s especially on the mezzanine at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta! Staffed by a STEM educator with a whole menu full of fun activities and a whole head full of knowledge, the Science Bar is where questions turn into answers!
Art Studio – open 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Children discover colors and explore artists from around the world. The projects in the Art Studio connect and are inspired by the traveling exhibits in the museum as well as cultural holidays.
Build It Lab – open 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Children will enjoy this supervised space where they have access to real tools and materials needed to spark creativity, nurture curious minds, and ignite the next wave of innovators. Woodworking and other popular maker skills encourage visitors to be curious, creative and innovative. Projects may include building an African Thumb Piano.
